Responding to a City-Wide Challenge

Students in Milwaukee have talent, ambition, and character. But for far too many Milwaukee students, these gifts are stifled by significant barriers, including extreme poverty and the widest achievement gap in the country.

Capitol West Academy aims to turn challenge into opportunity by surrounding scholars with support. Strong parent involvement, dedicated teachers and leadership, and constant communication empower scholars to rise to both character excellence and academic greatness.

CWA graduates are prepared for high school and beyond. Many go on to use their gifts to contribute to the communities where they went to school and where they live and work as adults.

Investing in the Future

Our school opened its doors in 2004 with 34 students in K5-3rd grade, and we have grown to serve about 280 students from K4-8th grade. We are proud of our past growth, but still need additional resources to secure future success and further increase the value of a CWA education.

To reach their goals and contribute to their communities, children need support from all sides. Teachers, parents, and community members must all be committed to their success. Your contribution to Capitol West Academy is a social investment; when our students succeed, our community succeeds.

Ways to Give

We envision a world in which every child can build resilience, overcome challenges, and thrive. But we cannot do it alone. We invite you to join us in this effort.
